Editorial policy
This page explains how a guide goes from idea to publication, and what the dates and labels on each page mean.
How we write
Guides are drafted by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic) working for the site owner, then checked against named sources. Where a figure or rule comes from an Indian Standard, we name the standard and give the clause where we can, and we do not copy its text. Every article page says that it was drafted with AI assistance. Prices and rates always show the date and the city they apply to.
Engineer review
A civil engineer reviews every guide and calculator before it is published. A page shows “Reviewed by” only after the reviewer has approved it. When a published page is edited, its “Updated” date changes and the reviewer confirms the change; the “Reviewed” date is updated only after that confirmation.
What the dates mean
- Published is the day the page first went live.
- Updated is the day the content last changed in a meaningful way.
- Reviewed is the day the engineer last approved the page’s content.
Corrections
If you think something is wrong, write to us from the contact page. We check the claim, ask the reviewing engineer where it is technical, correct the page, and add a line to the page’s change log.
Independence
Advertising, affiliate links or sponsorship never decide what a guide recommends. Any such relationship is labelled on the page and explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Translations
A translated page is published only after a person fluent in that language has reviewed it. If the English original changes, the translation is updated before it is shown again.
